I'm late I'm late for a most important date.

This heading sums the last few months up. 

Started a new business and running to and fro with great ambition flying through my veins. Much to share but in time, today the heading says it all: but below is a view of my images. Typepad has changed and pictures I posted in a quick post do not seem to show up, so here they are again.

 

we seem to be living in times where we have to be so very clear about where we stand in the picture of life.......I have had to re-evaluate what I want out of it and I know with the world in this topsy turvey state I absolutely have to be focused and clear and abandone all the ties that can slow me down and move forward.

This year has been rather crazy so far in that life seems to have sped up even more, there is so much going on. I wonder why I blog and then when I update I feel this sense of having cleared my mind and spirit, like everything is in place again, like speaking my heart out to a stranger and then walking away feeling my head and heart are so much tidier. Firstly my images seem to be coming together rather well and I enjoy the time in the studio immensely always as always.

I have started making jewelery as well hope to blog my pieces soon.

What seems to be making time so fragile is the new business i have taken on which has me running myself silly, however I do believe I will be seeing staggering results if I continue at this pace so I am allowing myself to be elusive to the studio for now, I expect this to go on for the next 3 years at least but dedication is what is needed and so I do not wish to complain.

Missed the snow this year

If I did not have the pictures to prove it I would truly question whether we had a festive season or not and upon looking at those that I do have I am able to remember a jolly good time. Xmas day was truly cozy with my story book house full of beautiful people whom I have known for years (as much as I would like to share the pictures I am not sure that my friends would want to be splashed over an artists public blog, so yeh I am not sharing them)...but the house was dressed up for the occasion, the kitchen boasted the delicious smells of a generous pork roast with potatoes and  yams socializing as they roasted to their golden crisp delicious best xmas dinner. In another pan a mix of red yellow and green peppers roasted away in golden olive oil, all this after feasting on the delights of my dear friend Rhoda's  Xmas cookies lovingly backed using old fashioned recipes that take twice as long as the quickies we tend to make nowadays, umm they were delicious and we  gobbled them down and they werte enjoyed by all and after dinner we were all back at it gourging my dearf riend Le-Annes home made trifle with boudoir biscuits slathered in liqueur, only thing is it was so good it passed in a whizz. I think I heard grunts but I will not say here:-).......truly a festive time was had by all burp......

 

So now it is back to the studio, working on some images which I shall post soon.

There does not seem enough time to do all I wish to. I love working art using digital rsources as there seems to be no limit to what you can do in a limited sort of way.....how confusing is that? This is a piece I did using Simon my son for the main character.  

The weekend has fled, we have been graced with generous splashes of sunlight and because of this I have been away from the studio taking advantage of the the light and the high spirits that go with it. 

Joined Le-Anne for dinner last night in Vancouver then we head out to the Allied Church on Tenth Street in East Vancouver to watch and enjoy an aurel feast. The music ranged from Bach to Reggae and the singing was superb not to forget the incredible accompaniments of Cello, Violins, guitars, organ, piano and xylaphones with woodie sounds all performed by local attendants of the church. john Williams did an incredible job polishing average people and musicians so that all they played and sang sparkled like glitter, it was spectaular. A real celebration of the festive moods we all find ourselves in this time of the year. 

Today we dropped Simon at the slopes.. We dropped into Chapters to browse books and bought a few. Then I came home to tidy my studio and get it ready for the new week when it will be back to the studio.!!! This ponder is what drives me to keep my space organized as best i am capapble of:

The world still spins on its ancient axis albeit all on it seems to be going mad.....

It really does feel like the world is going crazy, the news now stages one sick drama and follows to the next wierd political scenario daily and the wierdeness seems to be at epic proprtions. We really do have to think about how we arrived here if we are to see any changes but somehow we seem to just be reactive to all the wierdness out there. Can someone please tell me what is going on????

How do we navigate this life and how do we remain grounded and retain any focus whatsoever. I am certain that there are many out there whom feel as I do, I have come to learn that even though we all like to see ourselves as unique individuals, we are in fact the same in that we all have the same basic needs to remain as wholesome human beings with a sense of our humanity. This post is here because I see the entire system that has been built up over the centuries seems to be crumbling and no one seems to know how to deal with the issues. I don't know about anyone else but I find that rather unnerving.

My way to remain sane is to keep creating, maintaining a focus on what I can control when all else seems out of control. I think we would all like to vote the best man, however he is never a candidate.!!!

 Not much to say today. A trip into Vancouver to be with a dear friend, brunch, hearty discussion and a view of the mountains, and a perfect and sunny day. 

Even though it was great to be out in our beautiful city and close to the mountains on such a clear day it is always great to come home.

This quote "  Every painter paints what he is"  made by the master Rembrandt van Rijn in my mind is so incredibly true as in every work I do I do see an element of myself, in my paintings particulary, but whatever medium I work in there is a reflection of what lives inside of me, the idea that float around and influence my decisions and motivate me.

A glorious day, sun, the mountains visible laced in snow and the temperature friendly, and I was out and bout in the car which meant I got to enjoy the beauty the day had to offer. I have been off my super dooper health product for 4 days now and really missing it, cannot wait for my order to come, I cannot believe how this product has changed my energy levels and sense of well being. Should be here later today or tomorrow.

Made some real breakthroughs with my images yesterday and as I say whenever things go well I am back on my white charger giddy-upping again with a song in my heart. Here is an image which is a real challenge too that is not working so I am back to the drawing board, but would have been great had it worked. 

One truly must learn to walk before we can run. As the Turkish proverb goes, Patience will give you the key to your Kingdom. Tonight I shall be burning the midnight oil painting and firing lumps of clay all in anticipation....pant pant pant.

Spent a small while in the garden racking leaves, as I did so I loved their crisp rustling sounds, the last echo of their life before they completely decompose. I felt thankful for the moment, then came inside full of gratitude. That is why gardens are so important in our lives.

Creativity, like human life itself-begins in darkness.... and with that said I can allow myself to be kinder and less critical of myself  and the works I create. Knowing that all that is borne is first felt out in the dark and brought to the light at first a crude form which will require refining. So in trust I move towards a vision and a sense of perfect which is in itself an illusion, for each eye that finaly looks upon it will see differently and my perfect will fall short of that viewers ideal. With art, people always know how they could have made it better and how they would improve on it, but they forget the image was not borne out of their darkness, that they would never have even dreamed it in the first place. So ultimately we all have a different perspective on what would be perfect....to us anyway. In this realization, I remind myself to quieten my critical mind and to find a place of peace and to focus on the joy of it and move through each project with trust.
